Introduction

Welcome to Office Hours, an educational video series produced in collaboration with the Virtual Pathology Student Interest Group. Participation in Office Hours (as an attending, guest, or featured institution) implies agreement with the terms outlined below.

Our goal is to authentically showcase the day-in-the-life experiences of pathologists, inspire the next generation of medical professionals, and elevate the visibility of pathology worldwide.

Recording & Consent

• Recording is conducted solely with the coordination of the attending professional and videographer.

• The attending professional is responsible for ensuring that all institutional approvals, facility permissions, and personal consents are obtained prior to filming.

• By appearing in the video (verbally, visually, or otherwise), you provide implicit consent for the material to be used for educational, marketing, and social media purposes, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

• If requested, individuals or facilities may be blurred or removed to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
  
  

Use of Content

• All recorded material becomes part of the Office Hours series and may be distributed across online platforms, conferences, and educational outlets.

• The series producers reserve the right to edit, adapt, or repurpose content in alignment with the mission of Office Hours.

• Participants will not receive financial compensation.
  
  

Privacy & Data Protection

• We comply with applicable data protection regulations.

• No sensitive personal or patient data will be intentionally recorded or published.

• Any accidental capture of protected information will be removed during the editing process.
  
  

Liability Disclaimer

• Office Hours and the Virtual Pathology Student Interest Group assume no liability for content recorded during filming or its subsequent use.

• Responsibility for compliance with institutional and legal requirements lies with the attending professional and videographer.

• Participation is voluntary and at your own discretion.

Modifications & Updates

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated through our official channels. Continued participation in Office Hours after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Participant Rights

• Participants may request a preview of their footage prior to public release, where feasible.

• Individuals may request edits or removal of their personal appearance if concerns about privacy or representation arise.

• Participants may request that their names, titles, or affiliations be displayed or omitted in the final production.

Acknowledgments & Credits

• We aim to acknowledge all participating institutions and professionals in the final production, unless anonymity is requested.

• Credits may include names, titles, and affiliations to highlight contributions.

• Institutions and individuals may share their Office Hours episode freely for educational or promotional use, provided it remains unaltered and attributed to the Office Hours series.
